Experiential marketing agency in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is home. Our LA team plans, designs and produces brand experiences across the city, from two-day pop-ups at The Grove to fan events inside the LA Memorial Coliseum.
Experiential marketing in Los Angeles
AGENC is an experiential marketing agency headquartered in Los Angeles. Most of what we build here has two audiences: the guests standing in the room, and the far larger group who see it later through press, talent posts and creator content. Our founder and CEO, Cara Kleinhaut, coined #DesignForDigital for exactly that problem, and it still shapes how we plan an LA build. Sightlines, photo moments, lighting and guest flow are worked out for the camera as carefully as for the people walking through.
Experiential marketing in Los Angeles also means working inside an entertainment calendar. Awards season, premieres, upfront-style showcases and festival weekends in the desert all compete for the same talent, press and venues. We have produced across that calendar for Prime Video, Hulu, MTV, Bloomberg Live, InStyle and goop, and our producers know how load-in windows, neighbor notices and permit timelines differ between a Westside mall, a Hollywood studio and a private estate in the hills. You can see the full range on our work page.
LA is also where our crews, fabricators and vendors live. After the January 2025 wildfires we backed #StayInLA, the push to keep productions in the city, because the people who make this work depend on it. Keeping a project local shortens site visits, keeps rehearsals on schedule and means the team that designed the build is the one standing at the door on opening day.
Recent work in Los Angeles
The Rings of Power premiere
The LA stop of four Prime Video premieres in four countries in 15 days, each staged as a different corner of Middle-earth. The campaign won awards from Adweek and BizBash.
Olaplex awards season pop-up
Two days over Oscars weekend with express hairstyling, red-carpet photos and gift bags, built to launch a jumbo bonding oil and a travel-size dry shampoo.
Khloud trolley launch
A custom Khloud-branded trolley made seven stops in two days, sampling protein popcorn and hosting meet-and-greets with Khloé Kardashian at select locations.
Bloomberg Screentime
Year two of the sponsor-funded conference we built with Bloomberg Live: three stages, 25+ speakers and 1,500+ attendees over two days.
InStyle Imagemaker Awards
The first edition of InStyle's awards for the stylists and beauty artists behind Hollywood's looks, with guests including Lana Del Rey, Camila Cabello and Kristen Stewart.
Deli Boys food trucks
Two branded trucks with Yeastie Boys Bagels served free chopped cheeses to launch the ONYX series, the LA leg of a six-city campaign.
MTV The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras
Two days of cast meet-and-greets, a memorabilia exhibit and a tug-of-war pit for fans.
Cathay Pacific 80th anniversary pop-up
A ground-up, two-day pop-up with a 360-degree heritage journey and premium cabins, which then traveled to Hudson Yards in New York.
Los Angeles in 2026, 2027 and 2028
Three tentpoles in three years
LA hosted World Cup matches at SoFi Stadium in 2026, ran the FIFA Fan Festival at the LA Memorial Coliseum and opened ten official fan zones, including the Original Farmers Market, Union Station, Venice Beach and Downtown Burbank (BizBash). Super Bowl LXI comes to SoFi on February 14, 2027, with Super Bowl Week events spread across the region, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games follow in 2028 (LA Super Bowl Host Committee).
The World Cup showed where brands want to be seen: U.S. Soccer House in Venice Beach, Michelob ULTRA's Pitchside Club on Santa Monica Pier, and 7-Eleven activations in Hollywood, downtown and Huntington Beach (Event Marketer, Event Marketer).
Venues worth the scouting
Cara's own LA picks, written for BizBash in April 2026, lean private: estates in Beverly Hills, Bel Air and West Hollywood (including a Lautner residence used for a Louis Vuitton dinner) and the former Gladstones site in Malibu, which hosted a Dior Cruise after-party.
Permits
FilmLA handles film permits and does not process special event permits. Temporary use of a building, property or public way runs through the city's LADBS Temporary Special Event permit, and events longer than seven days normally need a building permit. We build permit review into the first production schedule, not the last.
Formats that work in Los Angeles
Shopping-district pop-ups
Two- to five-day builds at The Grove, Melrose Avenue or Abbot Kinney, timed to a launch or an awards weekend, with queue design that keeps the line part of the show.
Premieres and after-parties
Red carpets, step-and-repeats and after-party environments for studios and streamers, planned around press positions, talent arrivals and the content the network needs by morning.
Mobile sampling routes
Trolleys, food trucks and branded vehicles that hit several neighborhoods in a day. The route, parking plan and stop timing get as much attention as the vehicle wrap.
Built-to-sell conferences
Summits like Bloomberg Screentime where sponsor integrations fund the program, with stages, lounges and partner moments designed together.
Estate dinners
Seated dinners and intimate launches in private residences, where neighbor relations, parking and sound limits shape the run of show.

Questions we hear
Does AGENC have a team in Los Angeles?
Yes. Los Angeles is our headquarters and home to our producers and designers. LA projects are run by the same people who scout the venue, so decisions get made on site rather than over email.
What permits does a Los Angeles brand activation need?
It depends on where the build sits. FilmLA covers filming only and does not issue special event permits. Temporary use of a building, property or public way goes through LADBS Temporary Special Event permits, and private venues and malls also have their own approval processes.
How early should we plan for Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles?
Super Bowl LXI is at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027, with events across the region all week. Large builds take months: Paramount Mountain, our Super Bowl LVIII build in Las Vegas, was seven months in the making. If you want a specific venue or estate, start now.
Can a Los Angeles activation travel to other cities?
Often, and we plan for it from day one. Drunk Elephant's C-Luma pop-up ran in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, and DIRECTV's Blue Room moved from Chicago to Scottsdale to The Grove.
